Today, we want to take a much closer look at the Martin Smith acoustic guitar kit. One of the big benefits is of course that it comes complete with a wide variety of extras, everything you need to get started so you can learn to play the guitar.

The guitar itself, honestly, is nothing overly special, but it is made out of quality materials, features good craftsmanship, and it certainly gets the job done.

It sounds more than good enough for basic use, especially for practice. Let’s not forget the fact that it comes in at a very reasonable price, well under $50, which is quite impressive considering all of the extras it comes with.

Who is this for?

Generally speaking, this Martin Smith acoustic guitar kit is designed for basic playing and for beginners. The fact that it comes complete with a tuner, a pitch pipe, and so much more, means that it is ideal for first-time guitar players. It comes with everything you need to learn to play the guitar.

Now, it is not a guitar that we would recommend for professional purposes, especially not for playing live shows, but it certainly works well for practicing at home. It could also be something that you might use for smaller venues. It’s not the highest-end guitar out there, but it also comes at of fantastic price.

What’s Included?

Yes, of course the main part of this purchase is the acoustic guitar. Keep in mind that this guitar comes with steel strings, and in fact comes with six extra strings too. You then also get a fairly high-quality guitar strap so you can easily hold the guitar.

You also get a soft-shelled gig bag, for easy guitar transportation and storage. Furthermore, you do then also get a relatively nice clip-on guitar tuner, three guitar picks, and a pitch pipe too. Let’s not forget that you get all of these things for under $50.

Overview of Features

Here we have a fairly basic acoustic guitar that comes in at 38 inches long and features six strings. Keep in mind that these are steel strings, so they are quite hard, durable, and have a bit of bite to them. That said, they are still fairly easy and comfortable to play.

You might also appreciate the fact that the metal gear heads on this guitar make tuning very easy and accurate. On a side note, going back to the steel strings, as well as the tuners, these allow your guitar to stay in tune for a very long time before you need to retune it.

The dreadnought body style of this guitar is fairly classic, and it allows for a really rich and warm tone, combined with a good deal of volume.

Moreover, this guitar is made with real wood, although exactly what kind of wood is used is questionable. We do know that both the fretboard and the neck are made out of hardwood, which is very durable, and also performs well.

You might also appreciate how it comes with a bright blue glossy finish, which does look rather nice. Of course, the fact that it comes complete with so many extras, all for a low price, cannot be overlooked.

If you want something a little more functional and higher quality, something that is ideal for professional playing purposes, then we recommend checking out the Fender CD60 dreadnought acoustic guitar. You can also read our detailed review on Fender CD60.

Conclusion
